My Charmed Life

I live a "charmed" life. I love, I am loved, and I feel loved. Now that I got that mushy stuff out of the way (my friends know me as "Icebox"), let's talk about one of my fave pieces of jewelry----CHARM BRACELETS!!! I'd been wanting one for years, but just hadn't found one that said LOLA and that said AFFORDABLE, more importantly. But, my dreams came true at the Juicy Couture store in Miami. Normally, i'm not a Juicy girl, but the charms were so me that I couldn't resist. The extra prodding from my friend Nachette didn't hurt, although she really didn't have to do to much:) I liked the charms so much that I got 2 bracelets-one silver and one gold. Juicy has more cute golds one that silvers ones, so my gold charm bracelet is oh so CLINKY! You here me coming a mile away. People always ask me about and what each charm means. Take a look at my "charmed" life to see what makes me tick. Hopefully, they'll make a closet charm one day.

I HEART DVF!!!!!

Diane von Furstenberg is my favorite designer in the whole wide world. Beyond that, she's simply just a bad bitch! Just like her, her clothes exude sophisticated sexiness that will last you from your 20s to 60s and possibly beyond (depends on how spicy you are). Her 1973 invention of the wrap dress means so many things to me. It symbolized freedom to show our womanly curves, empowerment to start our own businesses, and confidence to be a person outside of a wife and a mother. As I get older, her honesty about real life issues you may face and her commitment making the world a better place endears me to her even more. Sundance Channel is featuring DVF on "The Day Before" series airing Wednesday, September 8 at 10 pm. Check it out! I'm sure she'll inspire you and your closet;)

F10: Pinko

Pinko, an Italian based fashion firm, is giving me sophisticated glam in their Fall 2010 line. The lines has its good balance of nudes coupled shots of red, mustard, and purple to add some kick. I love the furs and décolletage, but also appreciate the brands recognition of the fact that these can not be everyday wear for most women. They offer their fair share of suiting and separates that can be worn during your work week, but glammed up for the weekend or evening if necessary. It's like the love child of Bebe and Zara and I LOVE IT! My faves from the fall collection are below. Personally, I think all these pieces would like quite nice in my closet. Unfortunately though, I can only order some pieces online (not the cutest ones of course) at this point because there are no stores in the US:( Happy clicking I go because these are a MUST in my closet!

P.S. They have line for little girls too called Pinko Up!

F10: Zac Posen

Zac Posen's Fall 2010 line was a medley of color combos: army green/goldenrod, burgundy/black, grey/orange/blue, purple/blue, red/prints. Mostly a collection of tailored and flirty dresses, fur coats and separates peeked in intermittently throughout the collection. The furs were the standout pieces for me, which is not an honor to applause. Why you ask? Because he's not known for his furs!!!! He's known for impeccably tailored dresses and gowns that contour the curves of the female form. Well, weren't there dresses? Yes, there were, but the caliber of dresses should be the question at hand. Some of the designs seemed outdated and repetitive, while some of the fabric choices made me go hmmmmmmmmm e.g. red velvet.....SERIOUSLY, I LIE TO YOU NOT! Many people stay he got too much notoriety, too soon and it went to his head. I hope this is not the true tale Zac because your a talented tailor, bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbut I need you to do better.........IMMEDIATELY! Check out some of my closet worthy picks and their evil stepsisters that need to be hidden in the basement......

MY FAVES
Flirtiness that easily can be dressed down with combat boots or up with studded booties or pumps

Falls fave neutrals face off - GREY vs. CAMEL - Loves it!

Like the color combo and cut, but the crotch emblem needs to...POOF...be gone!

Love the cut, not the jacket material. Possibly brocade or paisley to tone down the cheesiness of this silk?

It's fur............ENOUGH SAID!

Oh, another fur that I like (in my surprised voice)

And another one.....

Purple rain much?!?!

MY UNFAVES
Material looks cheap and the skirt is cut horribly.
END OF CONVERSATION.

Is that velvet?!?!?!

SERIOUSLY?!?!

Miror Mirror: Emilio Pucci Fall 2010 - In The Red

MY THOUGHTS:
The gold shoes are looking real "Bakerish". I get what they were going for, but um NO! The styling team was looking for a sparkly color that stood out (not to blend in with her legs) and something strappingly sexy (to show she's a fighter and a fem). I agree with the sparkle, but a darker color would "pop" better than this gold that blends with her artificially tanned legs. Plus, I would add some of that "Rocky" machismo to toughen up the look. My suggestions are:

MY FAVE PICK
This sparkle cutout gives the Pucci dress the kick it needs. The buckle toughens it up, but the sparkle keeps it flashy and feminine. I'd kick some ass any day in these glammed-up boxing stilettos!
Guiseppe Zanotti - Glitter Sandals - $795

2ND OPTION
Guiseppe Zanotti for Balmain - Jewel Detail Shoe - $844

3RD OPTION
Sergio Rossi - Gstaad Back Zip Booties - $1160

Do you prefer the original or like the alternatives better?

MY THOUGHTS:
Her stylist got the right idea about the non-blending by using black. I love lace with the look, butttttttt something looks off. It looks like this outfit and her look were just kinda thrown together. New makeup and new hair would do wonders for this look. What do you think?

MY THOUGHTS:
Pass her the hammer because she hit the nail on the head!!!! It's seductive and feminine, without being nasty and trashy. Loves it!
